Mrs. Wanda Louise Sledge, 87, of Bowling Green passed away on Friday, August 11, 2017 at Hospice House. The Warren County native was born on May 24, 1930 to the late, F. Harrison Henderson and Vada Moats Henderson Howell. She was also preceded in death by her husband, William "Tommy" Sledge and two brothers, Lemuel and Billy Ray Henderson.

Wanda was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a lifelong member of Greenhill United Methodist Church, where she was saved at 9 years old. Her life was dedicated to serving others and being a friend to all. Her sweet and gentle smile will be missed.

A special thanks to Wanda's extended family at Chandler Park Assisted Living. All the residents, care givers, and administrators provided her a happy life for many years.

Wanda is survived by three children, Steven Wheeler of Alvaton, Gary Wheeler of Elkhart, IN, and Linda Feldman of Alvaton; seven grandchildren, Brad Wheeler, Mark Wheeler, Rachel Feldman, Justin Feldman, Melissa Frederick, Jordan Wheeler, and Anita Wheeler; seven great-grandchildren; four nieces; a nephew; and her Chandler Park extended family of caregivers, residents, and staff.

A funeral is scheduled for 10 AM on Monday, August 14, 2017 at Johnson-Vaughn-Phelps Funeral Home with burial to follow at Old Union Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 2 – 8 PM and again on Monday from 9 – 10 AM on Monday, also at the funeral home.
