Wanda Scruggs, 74, passed away on Monday, June 6, 2016 at The Medical Center in Bowling Green. The Bowling Green native was born February 21, 1942 to the late Vernon Manley and Opal Moats Manley. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Robert Scruggs; two sons, Dennis Scruggs and Scotty Scruggs; one brother, Leroy Manley; two sisters, Ruby Manley and Dean Howard.
Mrs. Scruggs was a member of Mission of Life Church. She loved her church family, and was very active in outreach programs. She was a graduate of Bowling Green High School. Mrs. Scruggs retired from Eaton Corporation. She was proud that she and her family were very close. Mrs. Scruggs enjoyed hosting and supporting all family events.
She is survived by her children, two sons, Monty Scruggs (Debbie), Jason Scruggs (fiancé, Rebecca Tice); one daughter, Joy Cardwell (Scott); one brother, Elvin Manley; one sister, Sue Houchins; two grandchildren, Derek and Ryan Cardwell; three great grandchildren, Ky'Mani, Samayia, and Andrew Cardwell, she was, also, Me-Maw to Jamie, Jimmy, Haley, Katie, William, Ansley, Carson and Audrey; special niece, Kathy Adams; several nephews, great nieces and nephews, and extended family and friends.
Funeral Services are scheduled for 11:00 Thursday, at Johnson-Vaughn-Phelps Funeral Home with burial in Bethel Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00 pm – 8:00 pm Wednesday, at Johnson-Vaughn-Phelps Funeral Home and again from 9:00 am – 11:00 am Thursday, at the funeral home.
