Vernice Ann Wheat, 79, of Bowling Green died April 4, 2017 in Evansville, Indiana. The Scottsville, Kentucky native was a daughter of the late Wesley Bransford Watkins and Minnie May Dinkens Watkins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leland Eugene Wheat, a sister, Viola Stamps and a daughter, Rebecca Ann Childers.

Mrs. Wheat was a homemaker and a member of Madison Avenue General Baptist Church.

She is survived by two sons, Terry Wheat and Gary Wheat (Pamela); son-in-law Richeard Childers; several nieces and nephews; special friends, Kathryn Sadvany, Betty Wells and Pat Walters.

Funeral Services will be at 1:00 pm, Monday, April 10, 2017 at Johnson-Vaughn-Phelps Funeral Home with burial in Fairview Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Johnson-Vaughn-Phelps Funeral Home.
