Truman Engler McGown, 78, of Bowling Green passed away on Friday, December 1, 2023 at his residence. He was a son of the late Paul Mobley McGown and Lottie Engler McGown.

Mr. McGown worked as a maintenance technician for the United States Postal Service for over 45 years. He served in the United States Marine Corp for four years, received the Purple Heart and was a veteran of the Vietnam War.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, December 8 at Fairview Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Thursday, December 7 at Johnson Vaughn Phelps Funeral Home.

He is survived by three sons, Mark Truman McGown (Kelly), Joshua Paul McGown (Cassie) and John Nelson McGown; a brother, Paul Nelson McGown (Pam); seven grandchildren, Connor McGown, Reagan McGown, Branson McGown, Sutter McGown, Evitt McGown, Prescott McGown and Isabella McGown; two nieces, Amy Ellis (Steve) and Elizabeth McGown Sims.
