Troy Guthrie, 48 of Bowling Green passed away Wednesday, November 23, 2016 at his home.

The Louisville, KY native was the son of the late Dr. Charles Snow Guthrie and Dr. Vera Grinstead Guthrie who survives.

He was a retired employee with Nalley Construction Company and a member of Christ United Methodist Church where he was very involved with the youth group.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Mary Jordan Guthrie; one son, Thomas Guthrie of Lebanon, KY; two step-sons, Andrew Sanders of Jackson, TN and Phillip Keown, II of Bowling Green; two step-daughters, Barbara Ann Sanders of Cookeville, TN and Laura Keown of Bowling Green; one sister Theresa Phillips (James) of Beattyville, KY; and five grandchildren.

Funeral Services are scheduled for 10:00 am Monday, November 28, 2016 at Christ United Methodist Church with burial at 1:30 pm at the Old Zion Cemetery in Barren County. Visitation will be from 2:00 pm – 8:00 pm Sunday, November 27, 2016 at Johnson-Vaughn-Phelps Funeral Home and again on Monday from 9:00 am until service time at the church.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the Charles and Vera Guthrie Scholarship Fund at Western Kentucky University.
