Thomas Edward Westbrook, 93, of Bowling Green, passed away peacefully with his family by his side at Hospice of Southern Kentucky. The Bowling Green native was the son of the late Lucien Edward Westbrook and Mable Thomas Westbrook. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a son, Thomas Steven Westbrook and a brother, James Julian Westbrook.
Tom was a member of Bays Fork Baptist Church. He was a charter member of the Alvaton Fire Department and a 70-year member of Goshen Lodge 503, where he was the only member to receive the lodge’s 70-year pin. In 1965, he was elected Warren County Outstanding Young Farmer, and he was a past board member of Southern States Co-op of Bowling Green. He loved farming and spending time with his family.
Tom is survived by his loving wife of 75 years, Elizabeth “Libby” Jackson Westbrook; one daughter, Donna Westbrook Hyland (Paul); two sons, Daniel Westbrook (Sherri) and Timothy Westbrook (Belinda); seven grandchildren, Brent Westbrook (Jennifer), Landon Westbrook (Millie), Aaron Westbrook (Aeron), Adam Westbrook (Molly), John Hyland (Lia) and Brooke Holman (Harrison); ten great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, September 14 at Johnson Vaughn Phelps Funeral Home with burial to follow at Fairview Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Sunday, September 13, from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Johnson Vaughn Phelps Funeral Home with a Masonic Service beginning at 6:00 p.m. Additional visitation will be on Monday, September 13, from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at Johnson Vaughn Phelps Funeral Home.
Memorial Contributions may be made to Hospice of Southern Kentucky or Gideons International.
