Tammy Lynn
Grudzielanek
d. Feb 19, 2024
Tammy Lynn Grudzielanek, 66, of Bowling Green passed away Monday, February 19, 2024 in Louisville, Kentucky. The Bowling Green native was a daughter of the late Clara Jane Borders Wilkins and Robert Douglas Wilkins, who survives.
She married her long-time love, Gary, on June 28, 1975 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Bowling Green, KY. Together they raised three children and loved spending time with family and friends. Many memories were made at large family gatherings, swim meets, golf outings, and kids' sports. Tammy and Gary enjoyed golfing together and played in many husband-wife tournaments, winning the Braves and Squaws in 1990 and 1999. Their home was the place where family gathered to have breakfast nearly every Sunday. Tammy loved her family deeply and put family above all else. She adored her grandchildren and attended baptisms, First Communions, activities, dance recitals, and sporting events to support them.
Christmas was very special to Tammy. She took pride in decorating her home and displaying her collection of Hallmark Ornaments and Department 56 for everyone's enjoyment. She loved giving gifts and bringing joy to others. Music, laughter and children's shrieks of excitement filled her home and warmed her heart.
Tammy was employed by Castner Knott for many years as a retail sales associate in the cosmetics department. She had a passion for her work and enjoyed making friends with her colleagues. After the family moved to Louisville, KY in 1990, Tammy worked at Bacon's as the manager of the cosmetic department and was later promoted to a buyer with Dillard's. In 1998, Gary, Tammy, and their son, Christopher, moved to Greenville, SC where she worked for Belk as a fragrance buyer. She continued working for Belk when she and Gary moved to Charlotte, NC in 2003. In 2012, Gary and Tammy moved back to Louisville, KY to be closer to family. Tammy worked part time at Dillard's at the Clinique counter where she won the Pacemaker Award for exemplary sales several years in a row. She retired in 2018 to enjoy time with Gary and her family.
After being diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease in 2015, Tammy joined a Rock Steady Boxing group and participated in various PD fundraising events. She was later diagnosed with Multiple System Atrophy-Parkinsonian Type. Tammy was grateful for the community of doctors, therapists, family and friends that supported her throughout her journey.
In addition to her father, she is survived by her husband, Gary Grudzielanek; one son, Christopher Grudzielanek (Tara); two daughters, Caron Anderson (Kris) and Kimberly Cupolo (Frank); three brothers, Ricky Wilkins (Jennifer), Marty Wilkins (Betsy) and Robert Wilkins, Jr. (Andrea); three sisters, Terri Hewitt (Keith), Natalie Flynn (Jim) and Sally Wilkins; seven grandchildren, Lola Jane Anderson, Beck Anderson, Tucker Anderson, Sofia Cupolo, Preston Cupolo, Gia Grudzielanek, and Oliver Grudzielanek; several nieces, nephews and extended family.
