Shirley W. Jones, 65, of Bowling Green, passed away on Tuesday, April 28, 2026 at Hospice House. The Bowling Green native was a daughter of the late Andrew White and Louise White, who survives. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Kathie White, Sandra Davis and Linda Ridgeway.

Mrs. Jones retired from Western Kentucky University, where she worked as an administrative assistant in the nursing department. She was a graduate of Warren Central High School and was a Baptist by faith. Shirley loved her dogs, Jack and Dexter, and going on vacations to the beach. Especially, walks on the beaches of St. George Island. She enjoyed WKU football games and travelling with her girlfriends. One of her hobbies was working with stained glass.

A memorial service will be held at 4:00 pm on Saturday, May 9 at Johnson Vaughn Phelps Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm on Saturday, May 9 at the funeral home.

In addition to her mother, Louise White, she is survived by her husband, James Michael Jones; a son, Eric D. Jones (Shauna Stoeger); three step-daughters, Jamie Holton ( Cecil), Jennifer Lee (Shawn) and Sarah Jones (Nick); seven grandchildren, Makenzie, Nyila, Niken, Matthew, Ashleigh, Nathan and Case; one great-granddaughter, Malaiyah; two nieces and three nephews.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the BGWC Humane Society or to Hospice of Southern Kentucky.
