Obituary

Sherri C. Sleight, 65, of Bowling Green, KY, passed away Wednesday, September 17, 2025, at The Medical Center in Bowling Green.

Born and raised in Bowling Green, Sherri was the daughter of the late John Curtis Carter and Imogene Miller Carter. She was a proud graduate of Bowling Green High School and Western Kentucky University. She dedicated her life to creating a warm, welcoming home as a homemaker. Sherri's faith was central to her life. She grew up attending Glendale Baptist Church and later became a devoted member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church, where she and her family worshiped together.

Sherri and her husband, Craig Sleight, shared an old-fashioned love story that spanned 43 beautiful years. Their marriage was a true partnership, filled with laughter, devotion, and unwavering care. Together, they raised two sons, Carter Sleight and Grant Sleight, whom Sherri cherished deeply and often described as "the light of her life." Her children were the joy of her heart. She poured her love and guidance into them every day.

Kind, faithful, caring, and above all, selfless, these are just a few of the ways her friends and family described Sherri's character. She was known for her spirit of giving and her gentle way of making others feel seen and loved. Whether through her faith, her family, or her friendships, Sherri embodied compassion and grace in every part of her life and will be remembered as an impeccable mother and a true, one-of-a-kind friend.

In addition to her husband and sons, survivors include her brother, Steve Carter (Sherry), her niece, Melissa Cook, and several additional nieces, nephews, and extended family who loved her dearly.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 24th, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, with burial to follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 23rd, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, and again on Wednesday, September 24th, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. prior to the funeral Mass.
