Dr. Scott Ford, 88, of Bowling Green, passed away on February 27, 2022 at Hospice House. The Niceville, Florida native was a son of the late Robert and Ida Marie Stagner Ford. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ann Taylor Harrison Ford; and two brothers, Bobby Ford and Bill Ford.
Dr. Ford was a microbiology professor at WKU. He received his undergraduate degree from WKU and his doctorate from Tulane University. Dr. Ford was a Methodist by faith, a veteran of the United States Navy, a member of the Audubon Society, an avid arrowhead collector, and a lifelong golfer – having shot his age at 69.
A visitation will be held from 2:00 pm to 4:30 pm on Saturday, March 12 at Johnson Vaughn Phelps Funeral Home.
Dr. Ford is survived by a son, Douglas Scott Ford (Debbie) of Knoxville, TN; a daughter, Laura Ann Ford Hilliard (Otto) of Bowling Green; three grandchildren, Matthew Scott Ford (Meredith), Amy Lynn Ford Landry (Jason), and Katherine Ann Kirby Smith (Austin); and two great-grandchildren, Margo Kate Ford and Mae Elizabeth Ford.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Methodist Children's Home of Kentucky,1115 Ashgrove rd. Nicholasville KY, 40356 or to Hospice of Southern Kentucky, 5872 Scottsville Rd., Bowling Green, KY 42104.
