Rose Petty Grimes Stinson, 77, of Bowling Green passed away Sunday, October 22, 2023 at her residence.

The Bowling Green native was a daughter of the late Jessie W. and Frances E. O'Shea Petty and was preceded in death by her husbands, Coy Grimes and Hank Stinson; her son, David Ross Grimes; and a sister, Mary Sue Curtis.

Rose retired from Fruit of the Loom where she worked as a crew leader and was also a fabulous cook.   She was a graduate of St. Joseph Catholic School. Rose was admired by all who knew her and retained a zest for life despite her trials. She was admired for her strength and joy in life's small things.

Survivors include her daughter, Denise Smith; two brothers Malcolm Petty (Georgette) and Patrick Petty (Bonny); a sister Norma Jenkins (Gerald); two grandsons, Dr. Tyler Smith (Bradley Taworski) and David T. Smith .

Funeral Service will be on Thursday, October 26, 2023 at 10:00 am at Johnson Vaughn Phelps Funeral Home with burial at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday , October 25, 2023 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Johnson Vaughn Phelps Funeral Home and again from 9:00 am to 10:00 am Thursday at the funeral home.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of memorial contributions to the Renew II Fund at St. Joseph Catholic Church for the ongoing work and growth of the parish.
