Ronald Bennett, 77, of Bowling Green, died on Saturday, September 21, 2024 at his residence.

The Macon, Georgia native was a son of the late Abraham and Nina Christine Coleman Bennett. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Jeb Martin Bennett.

Mr. Bennett was a systems engineer having earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Duke University. He graduated from Duke with a double major in Physics and Mathematics and he was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon at Duke. He was an Air Force veteran, holding the rank of Captain. Mr. Bennett conducted early missile detection for the United States Air Force. He was a member of State Street United Methodist Church and a former member of the Indian Hills Golf Club.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Mary Susan Mardis Bennett; one daughter, Hannah Belle Bennett; and a brother, Michael Coleman Bennett.

A private burial will take place in Fairview Cemetery at a later date. Johnson Vaughn Phelps has been entrusted with the arrangements.  Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Hospice of Southern Kentucky.
