Rick Murphy, 59, of Bowling Green, passed away Friday, September 29, 2017 at his residence. The Bowling Green native was born on January 3, 1958 to the late Francis B. and Virginia Steen Murphy.
Mr. Murphy worked as a construction inspector and attended the Unitarian Universalist Church of Bowling Green.
His love for dogs was a huge part of his life. Mr. Murphy was an active member of the Bowling Green Warren County Humane Society, and the Middle Tennessee Golden Retriever Rescue Society.
Mr. Murphy is survived by his son, Kelly Murphy of Nakoma Park, OK; one brother, James B. Murphy (Patty Jo) of Dandridge, TN; one sister, Suzanne Murphy of Bowling Green, KY; one uncle, Dr. Jack E. Steen (Dianne) of Memphis, TN; two grandchildren, Aiden William and Keegan Lee Murphy.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Johnson Vaughn Phelps Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
