Tonight, my heart is sad. Today I lost my best friend and wonderful husband, Richard Edwin Duff. He was born on August 6, 1932 to the late Guy and Mildred Conner Duff. He is also predeceased by a son, James Richard "Jimmy" Duff; two brothers, Dennis Duff and Verchael Wayne Duff; his father and mother-in-law, William and Lois Smith.

He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Norma Jean Smith Duff; two sons, Tony Duff (Sarah) and Roger Duff, both of Bowling Green; three daughters, Joanne Suiters (Dave) of Lafayette, Indiana, Martha Young (Fred) of Wolcott, Indiana and Katherine Duff Gipson (Albert) of Sweeden, Kentucky; He is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren; a special caregiver, Rita; four sisters, Barbara Davis, Pat Burden, Shirley White and Marlyn Bratcher.

He is a retired employee of Fruit of the Loom after 29 years in the cutting room. He was a broadcloth spreader for Fruit of the Loom and after 29 years of employment, it was figured that he had walked around the world 3 times. Before entering the field of employment with Fruit of the Loom, he joined the military with the rank of Sargent. After spending two years in the Korean War, he returned home and married the love of his life and took up farming.

Funeral Services are scheduled for 12:00 pm, Monday, March 18, 2024 at Johnson Vaughn Phelps Funeral Home with burial in Fairview Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm, Sunday, March 17, 2024 at Johnson Vaughn Phelps Funeral Home and again on Monday from 10:00 am until service time at 12:00 pm.
