Rena Moore Cox, 89, of Rockfield, KY, passed away Sunday, December 24, 2023 at The Medical Center.

The Barren County, KY native was a daughter of the late Will Moore and Eunice Payne Moore and was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Edward Cox, her sisters, Edith Britt and Lena Sledge and a brother, Elmer "Pete" Moore.

She was a housekeeper with Western Kentucky University and a member of Shiloh Baptist Church. Rena was a wonderful, dedicated wife, mother and grandmother and was loved deeply by her family.

Survivors include her children, Rena Diane Asher (Donnie), Sharon Marie Jones, James Edward Cox (Cathy) and Debra C Herrington; five grandchildren, Tiffany Jones (Ben), Crystal Stigall (Anthony), Eric Jones (Matt), Wesley Asher (Cara) and Ann Alderson (Logan); two great grandchildren, Hunter and Easton Stigall; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 pm, Friday, December 29, 2023 at Johnson Vaughn Phelps Funeral Home with burial in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm Friday, December 29, 2023 at Johnson Vaughn Phelps Funeral Home.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Johnson Vaughn Phelps Funeral Home to offset funeral expenses.
