Raymond Payne Lamkin, 95, of Bowling Green died July 11, 2017, at his residence.

The Raywick, Ky native was born to the late Joseph William Lamkin and Ella Mae Bartley Lamkin on September 19, 1921. He was also predeceased in death by a daughter, Sandra Paulette Lamkin, and a son, Danny LeRoy Lamkin, three sisters and three brothers.

He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Ora Hines Lamkin, a daughter, Cheryl Lamkin Watkins (David), and sons, Timmie P. Lamkin and Phillip R. Lamkin. Other survivors include two granddaughters, Dawn Dodd (Bobby), and Ashley Campbell (Paul), a grandson, Julian Lamkin, a great-grandson, Curry Payne Dodd, and three great-granddaughters, Kailey Morgan Dodd, Ryleigh Dawn Campbell, and Ally Reese Campbell, two brothers, Andrew Lamkin and Howard Lamkin, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Raymond Lamkin was a WWII veteran, having served in the US Coast Guard & US Army. Upon his return from war, he was a farmer and carpenter by trade.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Friday at Johnson-Vaughn-Phelps Funeral Home with burial at Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday and 9:00 am to 11:00 am Friday at the Funeral Home.
