Obituary

Phyllis Ann Parsley

1950-2026

Phyllis was a devoted mother, loving sister, amazing grandmother, and a prayer warrior with a strong heart. If you needed someone to pray for you, Phyllis was your person even if you could not find a way to pray for yourself. And on June 28th, her own prayers were answered when she went home to be with her Lord and Savior.

She was born to the late Haskell Wayne Prunty and Jessie Edna Alexander Prunty on January 4th, 1950. She was born again and saved as an eleven-year-old girl at Kyrock United Baptist. Though she was saved during a Revival Service, she did not profess her salvation until the following morning. She lived that salvation every single day since and blessed so many lives ultimately joining and becoming a Member at Fairview United Baptist Church where she was a member at when she passed.

In addition to her parents, Phyllis was preceded in death by her step-son, Scott Parsley, who went to be with Jesus in 2013. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Jackie Douglas, and the family knows they are decorating their heavenly mansions together already.

Phyllis is survived by her husband of 49 years, Steve, along with her two daughters, Julie Howard (Wayne) of Bowling Green and Kyla Kruizenga (Adam) of Brownsville; a step-daughter, Stephanie McCurdy (Chris) of Cookville, TN. She also leaves behind her sister Susie Skaggs (Eric) of Brownsville, her brother Steve Prunty (Tina) of Bowling Green, and her Brother-in-Law, Mac Douglas of Bowling Green. She is also leaving behind three grandchildren to carry on her legacy; Christian Howard (Chelsea) of Bowling Green along with McKenna Tabor and Garrett Houchins (Andrea) both of Brownsville. Phyllis is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and two great-grandchildren with two more great-grandchildren on the way who will miss her dearly.
