Patricia Bryant Compton, better known as Patty Compton, passed away on December 5, 2018 at Hospice House of Southern Kentucky in Bowling Green, after suffering a massive brain hemorrhage.

Patty was born on September 17, 1948 in Bowling Green, Kentucky to Dan Patterson Bryant and Norma Jean Lashlee Bryant, both deceased. She is survived by her husband, Bobby Compton; her sister, Carol Bryant High; her children: Amy Davis Stillwell (R.V.), Lori Davis Smith (Jonathan), Patrick Pegues (Manuela) and Leigh Pegues Easley; her husband Bobby's children, Sonia Compton Markham and Melissa Compton Morales; and a multitude of grand and great-grandchildren.

She was the granddaughter of William Buford Lashlee, Sr. and his wife Rubye O'Neal Parchman Lashlee of Bowling Green, Kentucky; and Jewel Edwin Bryant and his wife Gertrude Alice Bagby Bryant of Glasgow, Kentucky, all deceased.

She was a graduate of Bowling Green High School ('66) and Western Kentucky University, where she received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree. She was an accomplished pianist, volunteered as a Candy Striper at the local hospital, voted Best Dancer of her high school graduating class, and enjoyed growing flowers and canning fresh vegetables from her garden. She was also skilled at making beautiful quilts for her family.

Some of her fondest early memories involved camping and water skiing at Dale Hollow lake with her parents, sister, and many Bryant cousins. She was a devoted lover of animals large and small.

Patty worked in various capacities for many years as a nurse at Greenview Hospital and at the Medical Center at Bowling Green before her retirement.

Patty wished to be cremated after her death. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, December 9, 2018 at the Johnson Vaughn Phelps Funeral Home in Bowling Green, Kentucky.
