Obituary

Norma Jean Simmons, 90, of Bowling Green, passed away on Saturday, September 13, 2025 at The Colonial Center. The Butler County native was the daughter of the late Ruby May McKinney Turner and Raymond G. Turner. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her first husband, Terry Keith, second husband Lee Rakes; third husband, Donald Lee Simmons and sister, Lorain Cline.

Mrs. Simmons was a member of Lehman Avenue Church of Christ, now known as Cumberland Trace Church of Christ and retired from Holley Carburetor.

She is survived by three sisters, Maxine Gibson, Gladys Baker (Bill), and Aleine Banks (Ron); a brother, Wayne Turner (Janet); two stepdaughters, Rita Caswell (Bill) and Lisa Napier (Tim); two stepsons, Leslie Simmons (Delta) and Lee Simmons (Julie); six step grandchildren; five step great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 17, 2025 at Fairview Cemetery. Johnson Vaughn Phelps Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
