Minnie Jewell Garrett, 88, of Bowling Green died on Sunday, October 8, 2017 at the Medical Center of Bowling Green. The Clay County native was born on August 4, 1929 to the late Taylor and Sarah Etta McWhorter Jewell. She is preceded in death by, eight siblings; Violette, Elvey, Lincoln, James, Oliver, Randel and Wendell Jewell, sister in law; Iva Jewell.

She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Ms. Jewell loved to cook, she enjoyed yard selling, gardening, quilting and sewing. Most of all she loved the Lord. "Mom, you were the glue."

Ms. Garrett is survived by, three daughters, Judy Lacefield (Richard), Shirley McKinney, (Ray), and Joetta Arnett; two siblings, Versel Jewell (Fern) and Perry Jewell; five grandchildren, Darren Lacefield, Ben Warren, Laura Medlock, Sara Garner and Emily Hammons Damron; eight great grandchildren, Payton and Mallory Garner, Anna and John Lacefield, Isaac and Ian Rone, and Matthew and Rachel Medlock.

Memorial Service will be held at Living Hope Baptist Chapel, Saturday, October 14, 2017 at 11:00 am. Johnson Vaughn Phelps Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
