Obituary

Mary Virginia Osterman, 70, of Bowling Green, passed away Monday, December 11, 2017 at The Medical Center. The Louisville native was born to the late Louis and Carol Ulsh. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Rochelle Osterman and a granddaughter, Sarah Grace Tinsley.

Mrs. Osterman was a retired cafeteria worker from St. Joseph Catholic School. She was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church, a loyal and devoted leader with the Girl Scouts of Kentuckiana, a consultant with the La Leche League, a volunteer with St. Vincent DePaul, and enjoyed spending time in the outdoors and camping with her family.

Mary is survived by her husband, Joe Osterman; two daughters, Holly Osterman and Jennifer Downing; a son, Isaiah Osterman; six grandchildren, Ali (Josh), Dakota, Dylan, Chloe, Luke and Jadeyn; two great-grandchildren, Gabriel and Emberly; two sisters, Patricia Thompson and Rose Augustine (Kenneth); and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral mass will be held on Friday, December 15 at 12:00 pm at Holy Spirit Catholic Church with burial to follow at Fairview Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday, December 14 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm with a prayer service at 7:30 pm. Additional visitation will be on Friday, December 15 from 9:00 am until the mass at 12:00 pm at the church. Johnson Vaughn Phelps Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the family or to Holy Spirit Catholic Church.
