Mary Curd Logan of Massey Springs Senior Living in Bowling Green, died Saturday, April 27, 2019 at The Haven Memory Care. She was born March 22, 1915 in Warren County, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Essie Smith Curd and Nat H. Curd.

Her sister, Mildred Curd Hawkins, predeceased her in June 2014.   Mary Logan was educated in the Bowling Green City schools, Bowling Green Business University, and Western Kentucky University.  She was a secretary for Gordon Smith and Co., Inc., of Bowling Green and an employee of National Park Concessions, Inc., for which she worked at Mammoth Cave National Park, Blue Ridge Parkway Lodge, and Vanderbilt-Roosevelt National Historic Site, Hyde Park, N.Y.

On December 21, 1954, she was married to James E. Logan of Hyde Park, N.Y., where she lived until after his death.  In 1980 she returned to Bowling Green.

Mrs. Logan was a member of First Baptist Church.

She is survived by nephews, James A. Hawkins III (Rose Marie), Hugh J. Stedman (Juanita); local cousins, Alberta Smith, Charlotte Smith Rather; and special friends, Mary Ellen Khron and Dana Hatter.  She was deeply loved by great nephew and nieces, Joel and Jackie Hawkins, Jennifer and Chad Clayton; great-great nephews and nieces, Jackson Hawkins, Abigail Clayton, and Cali Clayton.   She will be greatly missed by many area friends and caregivers.

A private burial in Fairview Cemetery will precede a celebration of Mary's life.

Family and friends will gather at Johnson Vaughn Phelps Funeral Home on Friday, May 3, 2019 at 10:00 am to remember and celebrate the life of this wonderful lady. The family has requested no floral arrangements and request that contributions be made to First Baptist Church or the Residents Activity Fund at The Haven of Massey Springs Senior Living.
