Mary Ann Embry Shields, 78, of Alvaton, passed away peacefully while surrounded by love on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, at Greenview Regional Hospital. The Milwaukee, WI native was the daughter of the late Melina Gunta Baribeau and William Joseph Baribeau. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her first husband, Densil Embry and second husband, John Shields, Jr.

Mary Ann was the owner of Embry's Security Agency, a local property manager, and a lifelong homemaker. Mary Ann lived for the outdoors, farming, her grandchildren, and crafting.

She is survived by her daughter, Tina Brown (Jim); two sons, Brian Embry (Aurora) and David Embry (Anne); a brother, Bill Baribeau (Diane); three grandchildren, Hannah Bledsoe (Joseph), Madison Shelton (Hunter), and Brittany Brown; a great grandchild, Everleigh Shelton; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation will be from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm on Saturday, March 28 at Johnson Vaughn Phelps Funeral Home. A private memorial service will be held with burial at Fairview Cemetery.
