Marilyn Lehman Laney, 76, of Bowling Green, peacefully passed away on Sunday, October 8, 2017. She was born to Wendell Thomas and Margaret Truelove Lehman on October 26, 1940 in Logan County near Lewisburg. Marilyn is preceded in death by her loving parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lehman, and husband, Clell Laney.

Visitation will be held at State Street Methodist Church on October 10, 2017 from 4:00-8:00 pm. The Celebration of Life Services will be at State Street Methodist Church beginning at 11:00 am on October 11, 2017. Burial services will follow at Lewisburg Cemetery at 1:30 pm. Funeral Arrangements are provided by Johnson Vaughn Phelps Funeral Home.

Marilyn graduated from Lewisburg High School before attending Bowling Green Business University. Marilyn began her career as a bookkeeper and office manager for Food Town Supermarket of Pontiac, Michigan, She later married Cell Laney from Marion, North Carolina. Together they owned and operated Laney Florist until his untimely death in 1970. Marilyn moved to Bowling Green, Kentucky and worked at Heat and Cool, Inc., and later was office manager and co-owner of HH&L Warehouse, Inc. until her illness resulted in her retirement in late 2014.

Marilyn was a member of the American Business Women's Association and Cardinals of Kentucky Chapter. She was voted Business Women of the Year in 2011 of the Kentucky Chapter. Marilyn's favorite hobbies included attending Lady Topper basketball games, watching college football, playing golf, traveling, and spending time with her best girlfriends. Marilyn was a member of State Street Methodist Church of Bowling Green.

Marilyn is survived by her brothers, Carroll Lehman (Joy), and Pete Lehman (Joberta), one sister; Charlotte Wilkes (Dennis), Marilyn's nephews; Derek Lehman (Emily), Ryan Stokes (Addye), Marilyn's nieces, Gina Gordon (Chris), Jenni and Lauren Lehman, Marilyn's great nephews; Rhodes Lehman and Nash Stokes, Marilyn's great nieces; Haley, Addie, and Lexi Gordon, and Ava and Ella Lehman.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to, State Street Methodist Church or Hospice of Southern Kentucky.
