Mrs. Loretta H. Sutton Faxon was born in Kansas City, Kansas on Sunday, March 10, 1918. Her parents were Loretta Ann Davis and Otis Jackson Sutton.

She was married to Dr. William Buford Faxon on Saturday, August 31, 1945 in Independence, Missouri shortly after his return from the Medical Corps in service of his country during World War ll. They had two sons, William Sutton Faxon and William Russell Faxon and a daughter Mary Leanne Faxon Martin who was married to Richard Martin. Loretta is preceded to her heavenly home by her husband, their infant son, William Faxon and daughter Leanne. Her son Russell and granddaughter Mary Faxon both reside in Middle Tennessee.

Loretta lived in Bowling Green for seventy-one years and worked as secretary of the Eastwood Baptist Church for twenty-four years while raising her two children, Russ and Leanne. She had the privilege of working as secretary to four different pastors; Reverend Billy Devasher, Reverend James Britt, Dr. Gerald Lord and Dr. James Haskell.  As a charter member of Eastwood she retired from her position in 1984 and then served as a choir member, greeter and Sunday School teacher for many more years. She remained a devoted Christ follower until her death. Loving mother, constant friend, prayerful and elegant vocalist. Loretta is survived by numerous nieces and nephews across the country.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 12, 2019 at Eastwood Baptist Church at 3:00 p.m. with visitation from 12:00 p.m. until time of service. Private burial to follow. Johnson Vaughn Phelps Funeral Home are in charge of arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may take the form of donations to Hospice of Southern Kentucky.
