Lisa Petersen Cummings, 65, passed away on August 16, 2024. Lisa, born in Boulder, Colorado, was a lover of books and animals: every book was worth reading and every animal deserved to live, even the spiders that took up residence in her back steps.

She started her career in books at the Bowling Green Public Library, eventually retiring from Barnes & Noble. Outside of work or reading, Lisa could be found in her garden or couldn't be found at all because she was on one of her many adventures. She enjoyed her involvement with the Sierra Club, spending time out and about with friends, and was a proud member of the Good Time Girls and more than one book club.

Her children, Philip and Alison, and her grandson, William, reside in Bowling Green.

There won't be a service; a party for family and friends will be planned. In memory of Lisa, make a donation to an animal shelter, visit the local farmer's market, explore a National Park, plant something that you love (from a local nursery) in your yard, or go use your library card!
