Linda Kay (McCrary) Holthaus, born April 8, 1952, entered the gates of Heaven on September 4, 2025 after a brief illness. Though born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri, she made Bowling Green, Kentucky her home for the past 45 years.
Linda took immense pride in raising her four children, as well as many others during her years as a foster mother. She touched countless lives with her love, generosity, and devotion. Affectionately known as "Maw Kay," she cherished caring for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and even ran a small daycare from her home for several years. In her free time, Linda enjoyed traveling, boating, and was an active member of the local PEO chapter.
She is survived by her children: Kenneth J. Holthaus (Amy), Christina M. Smith (David), Tamara S. Egan (Rob Mitchell, fiancé), and Tara C. Nardella (Brian); her beloved grandchildren: Lauren Merritt (JD), Sydney McGlothlin (Holden), Morgan Iverson (Collin), Katelyn Spurgeon (Cody), Allyson Smith, Abigail Smith, Clarabeth Smith, Dylan Holthaus (Brandi), Brianna Egan, Elizabeth Nardella, Victoria Pafford (Chase), and Catherine Nardella; and her great-grandchildren: Blakely, Lincoln, Lilly, Kelton, Whitt, Jayden, Ella, Kayden, Lydia, and Owen. She also leaves behind her best friend of 60 years, Machelle Ciaravino; her dear friend and neighbor of 45 years, Karen Forbes; and her children she opened her heart to: Roy Lewis (Grace), Travis Lewis (Sasha), and John Lewis (Faith).
Linda was preceded in death by her loving husband of 43 years, Robert A. Holthaus, as well as her parents, Keith and Patricia McCrary.
