Lee Martin, 87, of Bowling Green passed away March 7, 2023, at Greenwood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

The Atlanta, Georgia native was born January 15, 1936, to Maldred Henry and Viola Mae (Bailey) Martin. Lee was a 1955 graduate of Woodlawn High School in Birmingham, Alabama, went on to proudly attend Auburn University, and serve in the U.S. Navy.  Lee married Elaine Ruth Smith in Knoxville, Tennessee in 1961.  They were married 49 years at the time of her death in 2010. They both retired from The Medical Center at Bowling Green where Lee served as Head of the Department of Nuclear Medicine. An enthusiastic, long-standing member of the Port Oliver Yacht Club at Barren River Lake, Lee loved to spend time there sailing. Other interests included reading, dogs, and telling tales of time at beloved Auburn.

Survivors include a son, Robert Martin, and his wife, Laura, of Newburgh, Indiana; a granddaughter, Katie Martin, of Ossining, New York; and one brother, James Martin, of Knightdale, North Carolina.

The family would like to thank the staff of Greenwood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for the excellent care Lee received there.
