Larry Russell Cassady, 66 of Franklin, died Thursday, February 8, 2018 at the V.A. Hospital in Nashville, TN.

The Bowling Green native was a son of the late Russell D. Cassady and Elsie Mary Keith Cassady of Franklin, who survives. He is preceded in death by a brother, Roger Douglas Cassady and two sons, Christopher Brian Cassady, and Michael Daniel Cassady.

Mr. Cassady worked as a carpenter and was a Christian. He was a Corporal in the U.S. Marines and was a member of the Marine Corps League and the American Legion Post #23.

In addition to his mother, Elsie Mary Cassady, he is survived by a son, Scott Cassady of Franklin, KY; a sister, Barbara Kelly; two grandchildren, Caleb Cassady and Sarah Cassady both of Auburn, KY; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services are scheduled for 1:00 PM Monday, February 12, 2018 at Johnson-Vaughn-Phelps Funeral Home with burial in the Brock A. Berry Veterans Cemetery located in Fairview Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm on Sunday, February 11, 2018 at Johnson-Vaughn-Phelps Funeral Home and again from 11:00 am - 1:00 PM on Monday at the funeral home.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the American Cancer Society or the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
