Kim Renee Carter, 60, of Bowling Green left from this world on October 4th, 2025. She unexpectedly left as she sat and watched the stars come out over Lake Cumberland. She spent her last days doing what she loved: enjoying the company of friends and spending time at the houseboat on the lake with her partner Gary. Kim touched many lives working through college with her two little boys as a cosmetologist at Castner-Knott. She touched many more lives in her 28 years as a nurse at the Medical Center. Her personality was compassionate, energetic, and contagiously fun, with a laugh and smile that would light up any room. She will live on fondly in the memories of many.

Kim was preceded in death by her father, Harold Travillian, Sr.  She is survived by her life partner, Gary Thomas; her mother, Gwyn Witt Travillian-Key;  brother, Harold Travillian, Jr.; and two beloved sons, Ross Carter and Seth Carter (Lindsay Searle); three grandchildren, Miles Sloan, Pierce Sloan and Elizabeth Thomas; step-children, Erin Sloan (Jordan) and Jacob Thomas (Micha).

Funeral Services are scheduled for 1:00 pm, Monday, October 13, 2025 at Johnson Vaughn Phelps Funeral Home with burial to follow in Bowling Green Gardens. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm, Sunday, October 12, 2025 and again from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm Monday at the funeral home.
