Obituary

Judy Carolyn Carter Towe, after 76 fiery laps around the sun, laid her burdens down and began her forever rest on December 9th, 2024, at home in the loving care of her son J. Kevin Towe and his family. The Charlotte, NC native (by way of Bowling Green, KY) was the daughter of the late great Melton T. and Bessie Lee Carter. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, John C. Towe and sons, Jeffery Allen Towe and David Wayne Towe.

Judy attended Warren County High School before she made her living at Town Towers, the Ramada Inn, Country Fixins, The Executive Inn, Klosterman Baking Company, Cracker Barrel, American Sunroof Company, and Citizen's First Bank. She worked and excelled at a variety of positions but rest assured, wherever she worked she was "boss." She was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose; Women's Auxiliary, the Bunko B***hes of Bowling Green, and was unofficial president of the Lake Nolin Girls of Summer. She golfed barefoot, drove two-door red dual exhaust sportscars exclusively (preferably drop tops), defended her family like a mama bear, couldn't breathe if she had on makeup, took no lip, and tossed out advice to all who needed it. She made a mean afghan blanket and even meaner banana pudding. Cancer came for her 24 years ago, but she still had work to do. Once her husband passed, her sons were wildly successful, and her grandchildren were on the path to success, she allowed herself to relax and be at peace.

The begats…

Left behind to carry on without her are sons, J. Kevin Towe (Yun Gao) of Charlotte, NC and Brad Towe of Versailles, KY; Grandchildren, Kieran Towe, Kayla Gao, and Case Towe; brothers, Harvey Carter (Debbie) of Bowling Green, KY and Kenny Carter (Pam) of Scottsville, KY; and sisters, Linda Green (Raymond) of Bowling Green, KY and Nelda Lillard (Gary) of Franklin, KY. Countless nieces and nephews with kids of their own.

Funeral Services will be held at Johnson Vaughn Phelps Funeral Home on Saturday, December 21st at 10:00 a.m. with burial to follow at Fairview Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, December 20th and Saturday 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at Johnson Vaughn Phelps Funeral Home.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of raising a cup, hollering, and revving your dual exhaust engine for all to hear and/or memorial contributions to the American Breast Cancer Society.
