Joyce J. Ennis, 86, of Bowling Green passed away Saturday, May 5, 2018 at the Colonial Center in Bowling Green. The Nashville, TN native was born March 8, 1932 to the late James William Jernigan and Lena Carney Jernigan Edwards. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Ray Jernigan and Harold Jernigan, her first husband, Thurman Sampson Trammel, Jr., and second husband, Layman Phelps.

Mrs. Ennis was retired from Fruit of the Loom where she worked as a Quality Control Inspector. She attended Bethel United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Kenneth Ennis; a daughter, Jean Scruggs (Doug); a son, Larry Trammel; a sister, Joy Bishop; two grandchildren, Chris Trammel (Kim) and Stacy Dunning (Kurt); five great grandchildren; six step-children, Daniel Ennis, Beth Ennis, Greg Ennis, Valerie Phelps, Sandy Rone and Anita Bear; several step-grandchildren and several step-great grandchildren also survive.

Funeral Service will be at 11:00 am Tuesday at Johnson-Vaughn-Phelps Funeral Home with burial in Fairview Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm, Monday at Johnson-Vaughn-Phelps Funeral Home and from 10:00 am – 11:00 am on Tuesday at the funeral home.
