Obituary

Johnnie Sublett Young, 82, of Bowling Green passed away Saturday, February 24, 2024 at Hospice of Southern Kentucky. The Hadley, Kentucky native was a daughter of the late Grider and Kate Durbin Sublett. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Dean Phelps (Homer), Mary Cohron (Paul); five brothers, Jack Sublett (Juanita), Charles Sublett (Bernice), R.G. Sublett, Asher Sublett and Bunk Sublett; several nieces and nephews; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, John and Linda Turbeville.

Johnnie was a graduate of Bowling Green High School. She retired from Holley Carburetor and then worked as a home health care provider. She was a member of Lewis Chapel. She was an amazing cook and avid gardener, especially enjoying her flowers and her birds. She loved taking care of her family.

She was an amazing, kind, God loving woman that had a heart made of gold. She loved everyone she met and witnessed to them, hoping everyone would be in heaven with her one day. She loved her garden, her beautiful flowers, watching the hummingbirds, and simply being outside in God's creation. Most of all, she loved her family, so big. We are so thankful to have had her for the time she spent with us and are going to miss her more than words can say, but we are so sure we will see her again one day standing next to her Jesus.

Johnnie is survived by her husband, Royce Young; one son, Tim Young (Angela); one daughter, Cindy Young (Rob); two sisters-in-law, Opal Sublett and Shirley Sublett; three grandchildren, Savannah Ward (Tyler), Natalie Young and Grant Gouvas; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Robert and Phyllis Young; several nieces and nephews also survive.
