Mr. John O'Neal Parker, 87, of Oakland passed away on Sunday, October 13, 2024 at Edmonson Center Nursing Facility. The Warren County native was the son of the late Lee O'Neal and Mable Parker. He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Ruth Schaffer and Barbara Lowe, and a brother, James Parker.

He honorably served for the United States Marine Corp, achieving the rank of Lance Corporal. He retired as a floor covering mechanic and was a member of Martinsville Missionary Baptist Church.

Mr. Parker is survived by his loving wife, Brenda Parker; a brother, Eugene Parker (Linda); a sister, Patsy Wimpee (William); and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation is scheduled for Monday, October 14, from 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM and again on Tuesday, October 15, from 12:00 PM -2:00 PM, all at Johnson Vaughn Phelps Funeral Home. Funeral services will begin at 2:00 PM at the funeral home with burial to follow at Martinsville Cemetery.
