John McAlpine Hoyle, 84, of Bowling Green, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 6 at the Hospice House. The Newport, RI native was the son of the late Samuel Hoyle and Helen McAlpine Hoyle. In addition to his parents Mr. Hoyle was preceded in death by his sister, Sally Mederios.

Mr. Hoyle was a member of Christ Episcopal Church. John served in the United States Marine Corp Reserves and was a graduate of WKU. He was an Administrator of Social Services for the Commonwealth of Kentucky. He enjoyed sailing and was a member of the Port Oliver Yacht Club.

He is survived by his wife, Angie Stewart Hoyle, one daughter, Alison McAlpine Lawless; one son, Johnathan "Joff" Stewart Hoyle; two grandchildren, Sage Stewart Lawless and Johnathan Avery Hoyle; one great grandchild, Micah Jackson; one sister, Gail Garrett and several nieces.

A private graveside service will be held at Fairview Cemetery. Public visitation will be held on Thursday, April 11 from 12:00 pm to 2:30 pm at Johnson Vaughn Phelps Funeral Home.
