Jessie Mae Martin, 93, of Bowling Green passed away Wednesday, August 12, 2026 at her residence.

She was born August 30, 1932 in Goldbug, KY (Williamsburg) to the late Hobert and Nola Cox Worley and was also preceded in death by her husband, Vernon Martin; a brother, Harold Worley; and sister-in-law, Loretha Worley.

Mrs. Martin was a graduate of the University of Kentucky and Western Kentucky University holding a master’s degree. She was a social worker for Barren River Area Development District, a member of United Methodist Women and State Street United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her two sons, Dan Martin (Stephanie) of Bowling Green, KY and John Martin of Evansville, IN; a daughter, Rebecca Witt (Ken) of Lexington, KY; five grandchildren, Laura Witt (Jimmy Stevenson) of Shelbyville, KY, Adam Witt (Heather) of Lexington, KY, Zachary Martin (Lauren) of Bowling Green, KY, Luke Martin of Bowling Green, KY and Caroline Martin of Indianapolis, IN; five great grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 pm, (Central time) Saturday, August 15, 2026 at Johnson Vaughn Phelps Funeral Home in Bowling Green. Visitation will be from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm (Central time) Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be on Monday, August 17, 2026 at 11:00 am (Eastern time) in Worley Cemetery in Williamsburg, KY.
