Jerry Ray Alford, 70, of Bowling Green died Monday, March 27, 2017 in Bowling Green. The Warren County native was a son of the late Roy Earl Alford, Sr. and Valeria Rose Alford. He is preceded in death by his sister, Joyce Ellen Penn and brother, Joe William Alford.

He was a graduate of Richardsville High School and retired from Holley Carburetor after 41 years of employment. Mr. Alford was a US Army veteran and was a member of the Elijah Upton Masonic Lodge, the American Legion and the National Rifle Association. He was a member of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include his wife, Joyce Faye Alford of Bowling Green; two brothers, Roy Earl Alford, Jr (Ut) of Wentzville, MO and James A. Alford (Karen) of Bowling Green; two sisters-in-law, Brenda Taylor (Paul) of Columbia, TN and Barbara Martin of Bowling Green; several nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews and several great-great nieces and great-great nephews.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm Thursday at Johnson-Vaughn-Phelps Funeral Home with burial in Barren River Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm Wednesday and again from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm on Thursday at Johnson-Vaughn-Phelps Funeral Home
