James D. "Buddy" Hughes, 85, of Scottsville passed away Thursday, November 8, 2018 at Greenwood Nursing and Rehab Center.

He was a son of the late J. Russell and Nora Ragland Hughes and was preceded in death by three brothers, Maurice, Bobby and Paul Hughes and a sister, Elsie Cates.

Mr. Hughes was a graduate of Auburn High School, a farmer and member of the Auburn Church of Christ. He was an antique car lover and won the Grand National in the Antique Auto Club of America with his 1960 Chevrolet Impala. He was an avid UK basketball fan.

Survivors include his wife, Julia Faye Oliver Hughes; several nieces and nephews and his special little friend, Benji.

Graveside services are scheduled for 1:00 pm, Monday November 12, 2018 at Fairview Cemetery #2. Visitation will be from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm, Sunday November 11, 2018 at Johnson-Vaughn-Phelps Funeral Home.
