Hugh Henon Hardcastle, 88, of Bowling Green died August 13, 2018, at his home on the farm. The Warren County native was a member of First Christian Church of Bowling Green. He was a 1949 graduate of Alvaton High School. Mr. Hardcastle was a self-employed farmer and was named Outstanding Young Farmer of Warren County in 1965. He retired from the Warren County Public School System.

Mr. Hardcastle was the son of the late Willard Hardcastle and Nicola Henon Hardcastle and was preceded in death by his sister, Eunice Carver and his brother, Wayne Hardcastle.

Survivors include his wife of 69 years, Eula Mae Hardcastle; his daughter, Deborah Lashlee and her husband, Dee J. of Liberty Township, Ohio; his son, Nelson Hardcastle and his wife, Rita of Alvaton, KY. Four grandchildren: Heather Snyder of Louisville, KY; Tana Hubbard (Mark) of West Chester, OH; Tiffany Stone (Travis) of Bowling Green, KY; Tracy Fleischman (Mark) of Cincinnati, OH. Eight great grandchildren: Asia, Lucas, Collin, Hailey, Kaley, Kaitlyn, Adalyn, and Dylan. Five nephews and three nieces.

Visitation will be at Johnson-Vaughn-Phelps Funeral Home 4-8 pm on Wednesday, August 15. Additional visitation will be on Thursday, August 16 from 10 am-1:00 pm, with the funeral service at 1:00 pm. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to The American Heart Association or to Hosparus.
