Hazel Lewellen entered into the presence of the Lord on Tuesday, July 31, 2018. She was a daughter of the late Perry Harold and Hattie Hartwell Hamilton. She was born in Columbus, Indiana and was married for 69 years to Herbert Lewellen, who preceded her in death. They began their marriage together in Waynetown, Indiana. In 1958 they moved to Willard, Ohio where they raised a family with three children. They finished their marital life in Ethridge, Tennessee where they moved in 2000 to be close to their daughter. They had three children, Herbert Gregory Lewellen, who is deceased, Harold Michael Lewellen (Cynthia) who lives in Bowling Green, Kentucky and Cynthia Jane Branham (Dennis) of Summertown, Tennessee. She has ten grandchildren, Jessica Lewellen Calvert (Steve), Christopher Gregory Lewellen, Jeffrey Branham, Jeremy Branham (Kari), Jennifer Branham, Emily Lewellen Treadwell (Michael), Michael Lewellen, Jr. (Ashley), Elisabeth Lewellen Downey (David), John Lewellen (Trish) and Cory Lewellen, who is deceased. She has twenty-three great grandchildren with her great grandson Francis Harrison Treadwell preceding her in death. She is also survived by her sister, Ida Crispin.

She was a loving, caring mother who was the best example of the unconditional love of Christ. She was a regular attender at the local Methodist church where ever they resided.

A memorial service was held at the Ethridge Methodist Church on August 4, 2018 at 11:00 am in Ethridge, Tennessee. A graveside service will be held at a later date at Waynetown Masonic Cemetery in Waynetown, Indiana where she will be interned with her husband.

The family has requested that any gifts or memorials be given to the Ethridge Methodist Church, 49 Main St., Ethridge, Tennessee 38456 or any Alzheimer organization.
