Harold Eugene Powell, 82, of Bowling Green went home to be with the Lord at 12:30pm on Friday, November 18, 2016. He has now been reunited with his beloved wife of 55 years, Mavis Ruth Powell. The Warren County native was a retired employee of Eaton, a member of Clear Fork Baptist Church, and a volunteer at Browning Volunteer Fire Department for over 30 years.
He was a son of the late Walter and Gracie Powell. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Carman and Lewie Powell and one sister, Mary Ruth Hunton.
The funeral service will be Tuesday, November 22, 2016 at 11 AM at Johnson-Vaughn-Phelps Funeral Home with burial to follow in Clear Fork Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday, November 21, 2016 from 3 – 8 PM and again on Tuesday from 9 – 11 AM at the funeral home.
Survivors include: one daughter, Wanda Sue Deel (Morris); two sons, Darrell Powell (Cindy) and David Powell (Wanda); a sister, JoAnn Chyle of Auburn; a brother, Ray Powell of Auburn; the special children that he told everyone about; seven grandchildren, Chris Powell, Pamela Seay, Kevin Deel, Michael Deel, Saundra Dailey, Joshua Hendrick, and Eric Madison; nine great-grandchildren, Kamryn Deel, Keaton Deel, Kallie Kitchens, Jason Dailey Jr., Jenna Dailey, and Caleb, Erin, Ethan, and Braxton Hendrick; one great-great grandchild due in February 2017, Matilda Jo Hendrick; and several nieces and nephews.
