George Marshall Love, Jr., 90, passed away Friday, March 23, 2018 at Hospice House of Southern Kentucky. He was a son of the late George Marshall Love, Sr. and Margaret Patteson Love. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Joan Love Edwards.
Mr. Love a graduate of College High and Progressive School of Photography in New Haven, CT. He was a professional, award-winning photographer, a Navy veteran and member of The First Christian Church of Bowling Green. Mr. Love was a charter member of the Kentucky Corps of Long Rifleman, a member of the American Legion, the BG-WC Jaycees and a volunteer with the restoration of the Train Museum.
Survivors include his wife, Irene Sparks Love of Bowling Green; a son, Robert Patteson Love and his wife, Ronna Wilder Love of Bowling Green; a granddaughter, Joyce Megan Love of Van Nuys, CA; a grandson, George Matthew Love and his wife, Mary Turner Love of St. Louis, MO.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 pm Tuesday at The First Christian Church with burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery. Visitation is scheduled for 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm Monday at Johnson-Vaughn-Phelps Funeral Home and again on Tuesday from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm at the church. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to The First Christian Church.
