Gary Dale Jerls, 78, of Bowling Green, passed away on Saturday, March 30, 2019 at Greenview Hospital. The Parma, MO native was born to the late Cecil William and Cozetta Mae Evans Jerls. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Leslie Eva DeBusk Jerls and one brother, Hollis William Jerls.

Mr. Jerls was a faithful member of Rich Pond Baptist Church and loved his church family, he was a very active deacon, choir member, and participated where ever needed. A follower of Christ, he raised his children and granddaughter in a Christian home and set the greatest example of how a dad and grandpa should be. Mr. Jerls lived his life serving the Lord, his church, and loving his family. He retired from General Motors Corvette after 39 years with GM.

He is survived by one son, Gary William Jerls; one daughter, Kimberly Jerls Lauderdale; two sisters, Sandra Jane Wilson (James), Judith Kay Bland (Jim); one grandchild, Aaron Elizabeth Richmond and several nieces and nephews, along with several great nieces and nephews.

Funeral services are scheduled for Wednesday, April 3, 2019 at 1:00 pm at Rich Pond Baptist Church with burial at Fairview Cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday, April 2, 2019 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Johnson Vaughn Phelps Funeral Home. Additional visitation will be Wednesday, April 3, 2019 from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm at Rich Pond Baptist Church. Johnson Vaughn Phelps Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

In lieu of flowers the family has requested memorial donations to the Rich Pond Baptist Church Sound Equipment Fund.
