Gary A. Bewley, 71, passed away on Saturday, October 3, 2026 at Hospice of Southern Kentucky. The Bowling Green native was born on February 6, 1955 to the late John M. Bewley and Ruby Chaney Bewley Napper. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Janice Bewley and brother, Johnny M. Bewley.
Gary was a talented graphic artist. He graduated from Bowling Green High School in 1973 and later attended the Harris School of Advertising Art in Franklin, Tennessee, class of 1977.
Gary created signage for Fiesta Texas Theme Park (Opryland) in San Antonio, Texas. He also worked for Cummings Sign Co. in Nashville, Tennessee, and Mazda-Hickory Hollow.
Gary enjoyed his regular horseshoe games with friends, music, camping, riding his motorcycle, and smoking a good cigar.
Gary was proud of his family and his grandsons.
He is survived by his son Garth Bewley (Tabatha) and two grandsons, Garth and William all of Lebanon, TN; sister, Debra Frost; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 8 at Johnson Vaughn Phelps Funeral Home with burial to follow at Fairview Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy can be made in the form of memorial contributions to Hospice of Sothern Kentucky.
