REVISED LOCATION

Captain Fred Dailey Faulkner, United States Army, (Ret), 89, of Bowling Green, was called home peacefully to be with the Lord on Friday, September 25, 2026 at Christian Health Care. He was born in Humbolt, Tennessee, the son of the late Dr. Roscoe Faulkner and Elizabeth Dailey Faulkner. He was the step-son of the late Gladys Baird Faulkner. Captain Faulkner was preceded in death by one brother, Dr. Baird Faulkner.

He enlisted in the Air Force after high school. Fred spent 4 years in the Air Force where he trained at Yale University and became fluent in Mandarin Chinese. After his discharge from the Airforce he later returned to college at Murray State University. At graduation he was commissioned as a 2nd LT in the Army.  He later served in Vietnam in the Army and was promoted to the rank of Captain before his retirement. He was an active member of Versailles United Methodist Church and Faith Methodist Church where he volunteered to help in many different activities. He was a retired Computer Programmer Systems Analyst for the Department of Education in the Commonwealth of Kentucky and was a member of the Bluegrass War Games Group.

Captain Faulkner is survived by his wife Martha Faulkner; two daughters, Joy (Phil) Gerk of Mechanicsville, VA and Elaine (Brent) Mason of Bowling Green, KY; six grandchildren, Andrew (Emily) Mason of Madison, AL, David (Lauren) Mason of Louisville, KY, Kate (Jay) Buser of Bowling Green, KY, Kelly Gerk of Mechanicsville, VA, Molly Grace Gerk of Champagne, IL and Lydia Gerk of Wood Dale, IL and one great-grandson, Nolan Mason. He is survived by one brother, John Faulkner and two sisters, Kay Story and Beverly Wallace.

REVISED LOCATION

Services are scheduled for 12:00 pm Friday, October 2, 2026 at Faith Methodist Church. Visitation will be from 10:00 am -12:00 pm Friday at Faith Methodist Church. Burial will be on Saturday, October 3, 2026 at 10:00 am at Fair View Cemetery in Leitchfield, KY. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Southern Kentucky or St. Gianna Crisis Pregnancy Home of Bowling Green.
