Frances Vaughn Stevens, 84, of Bowling Green entered into rest October 23, 2019. Frances was born May 14, 1935 in Webster County, Kentucky. She was preceded in death by her parents Pearl Lacy Vaughn and Archie Leonard Vaughn, her sisters Mildred Evadean Sledge and Betty Jean Smith, and her brother Charles Buddy Vaughn, grandson Nathan Ross Gibbs.

Frances was a longtime member of Southside Baptist Church where she taught three to five-year-old Sunday school for many years as well as working with the youth during vacation bible school.

Survivors include her children, daughter Judy Lynn Fortune (Dennis) of Bowling Green, sons James Warren Gibbs Jr. of Surprise, Arizona, Steven Ray Gibbs (Allyson) of Bowling Green, Rickie Joe Gibbs of Bowling Green; ten grandchildren: Michael Eller, Brad Younger (Liz), Jasmine Gibbs Brooks (Mike), Racquel Gibbs McQuire (Joe), Savanna Gibbs Bender (Kory), Lauren Gibbs Adamson (Josh), Zachary James Gibbs, Brittany Gibbs Wyrick (Barry), Kendal Gibbs and Jeremy; fifteen great grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and a nephew.

Funeral services will be Monday, October 28, 2019 at 1:00 pm at Johnson Vaughn Phelps Funeral Home with burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery. Visitation for the public will be Sunday, October 27, 2019 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Johnson Vaughn Phelps Funeral Home and Monday, October 28, 2019 at Johnson Vaughn Phelps Funeral Home from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm.
