Eugene D. Mayer, 88, died at his Bowling Green residence on July 10. He was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, E. Leslie Mayer; his brother, Albert "Jack" Mayer, and his sister, Joan Bird of Colorado.

Born in Taneytown, Maryland, Mr. Mayer served in the Army, worked in the aerospace industry in California, and operated a camera repair business in Santa Fe, New Mexico and Fayetteville, Arkansas.

A beloved husband, father, and friend, Eugene Mayer will be greatly missed by those who loved him. His survivors include three daughters, Jean Marie Fogelberg, Leslie Ann Holder and Andrea Lynn Denney; three grandchildren, Ashley Marie Monplaisir, Kevin Eugene Holder and Clifton Michael Holder; a great-grandson, Levi Holder; nephew Tom Bird; and two granddaughters of the heart, Analise and Julie Hudspeth.
