Dorothy Share, 92, of Bowling Green, passed away on September 20, 2016 at Greenview Hospital.

She was born in Superior, WI, the daughter of the late Adelaide and James Moriarity and was the widow of the late John C. Share. They were married for 47 years.

Dorothy has been a charter member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church, a Eucharistic minister, a minister of care, member of the Catholic Women's Organization and a member of the Widow's Club. She graduated from Cathedral High School in Superior and attended business college. She was employed for 20 years as a Sr. Administrative Secretary at Western Kentucky University and also served on the board for the Elderhostel Programs.

After retirement from Western, Dorothy became a volunteer for Greenview Regional Hospital. While volunteering for over 20 years, she received the Dr. Frist Humanitarian Award and was twice honored with Volunteer of the Year. She served on the board for the Senior Programs.

She was preceded in death by her sisters, Marian Duggan and Joan McHugh; brothers, James, Donald and Neil Moriarity; and granddaughter, JJ Share.

Funeral Mass will be at 2:00 pm, Sunday, September 25, 2016 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church with interment in St. Joseph's Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be from 2:00 pm – 8:00 pm Saturday, September 24, 2016 at Johnson-Vaughn-Phelps Funeral Home. Prayer services will be at 7:00 pm Saturday at Johnson-Vaughn-Phelps Funeral Home.


Dorothy is survived by two sons, Michael Share (Karen) of Tallahassee, FL and Kevin Share (J Porter) of Nashville, TN; two daughters, Holly Share Ridge (John) of Louisville, KY and Lori Share Davidson (Jack Burckle) of Bowling Green; eight grandchildren, Cassie Share Layton (Jim), John Share (Becky), Ryan Ridge (Ashley), Jacqueline Ridge McCabe (Matt), Andrew Ridge, Barrett Share (Candy), Richie Davidson and Alexandra Davidson; four great grandchildren, Wyatt Layton, Garrett Layton, Hutson Jack Share and Louise McCabe; one sister, Patricia Moriarity Turriff of Buena Park, CA.
