Doris L. Britt entered her heavenly home at 1:00 P.M. Friday, September 28, 2018 at the age of 90 years. She was born in Louisville, KY on September 19, 1928 and was a graduate of Shawnee Girls High School in Louisville.

She was the loving wife of Rev. James Britt, they married on December 19, 1950. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Louis Craddock and twin brother, Donald Craddock. Mrs. Britt was a devoted mother to Barton L. Britt (Donna) and Elizabeth M. Bradford (David); grandmother to Jamie Powers (Shane), Emily Booth (Mark), Jay Bradford (Lauren), Aaron Britt (Emily), Sarah Reynolds and great grandmother to Catherine, Caroline and Charlotte Powers, Jackson and Harrison Booth, Saylah, Drake and Reese Reynolds and John David Bradford.

Mrs. Britt served beside her husband who was pastor of First Baptist Church, Trenton, TN, Immanuel Baptist Church, St. Louis, MO, Lansdowne Baptist Church, East St. Louis, IL and Eastwood Baptist Church, Bowling Green. She was gifted with a trained soprano voice and was an artist, interior designer, Bible teacher, faithful witness and served the needs of the homeless.

The Celebration of Life is scheduled for 10:00 A.M. Monday, October 1, 2018 at Hillvue Heights Church Chapel with burial in Fairview Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. Sunday, September 30, 2018 at Hillvue Heights Church Chapel. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Hosparus. Johnson-Vaughn-Phelps Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
