d. Oct 20, 2025
Dewey Scott Glasscock departed this life for his eternal heavenly home on October 20, 2025, at the age of 86 at Hospice of Southern Kentucky in Bowling Green, KY after suffering several health complications.
Dewey was born to the late Elbert and Margie Glasscock, in Warren County, KY on February 13, 1939. He graduated from Warren Central High School, attended BU, and graduated from Western Kentucky University with a degree in Business Administration. Dewey was an active member of the Bowling Green-Warren County Jaycees, served as President in 1970, and was named Outstanding Young Man of Kentucky in 1973. He was also a member of the Stockland Investment Club.
Dewey worked as a banker/mortgage loan officer for 42 years beginning at Citizens National Bank which transitioned to US Bank. He was also a farmer, loved growing a garden, and had an incredible green thumb.
Dewey and Carolyn married on April 3, 1959, and were blessed with Kelly in 1962 and Shelly in 1974. They demonstrated their love for their girls by raising them in a Christian home and by being active members of Old Union Missionary Baptist Church where he and Carolyn were members. Dewey held several offices in the Church including Treasurer, Sunday School teacher, and song leader; he was a member of the Ministers School Committee and Old Union School Board, and he was an ordained Deacon. He was also a dedicated choir participant and always sang with a big smile.
Dewey was a beloved husband, dad, and granddaddy, and he will always be honored as such. He was a great friend and never met a stranger. His contagious laugh, generous heart, and loving character will be forever remembered. He enjoyed playing cards and was famous for his chocolate pies & sourdough bread.
Dewey is preceded in death by his parents, Elbert and Margie Glasscock; stepmother, Lucille Glasscock; brother, John Carroll Glasscock (Frances); and sisters, Patsy Keane and Virginia Myers.
